In the midst of our New England winter, we offer a “romantic” evening of great music, yearning for the return of summer – music from Felix Mendelssohn’s joyful and “puckish” “Midsummer Night’s Dream” and his Italian symphony – inspired by his yearly vacations to sunny Italy! CHSO cellist Eleanor Blake – a member of the CHSO Cello section in our very first year, 2000-01 – fulfills a long-standing promise to her Grandmother to finally perform Edward Elgar’s profoundly beautiful Cello Concerto with HER orchestra!
